Growing up on the southwest side of Chicago, we had the wonderful experience of the Pizza Pete at the corner of 59th Street and Lawndale Ave. I'll never forget the mouthwatering aroma of a fresh, 'piping hot' Pizza from Pete's. As we tore open the wrapper, a puff of steam would signal dinner time on a Friday night. The 'cracker thin' crust, along with the wonderful toppings and sausage, held together by melted mozzerella cheese - it was just as delicious then, as it is, now. Orland Park is a great place to live, if you want Pizza Pete, close at hand. I can also remember something about Pizza Pete in the Guiness Book of World Records for the largest pizza. It was put together on the little league baseball field in Oak Lawn, IL. I think this happened in the early to mid-1970s. At that time, there were many locations. Too bad almost all, have closed. My hope for Orland Park, is that their Pizza Pete location will remain open for many more years to come.

Karl from Missouri said  "My mother worked at Pizza Pete back in 1967. Once a week she let me run the place for her. I was only 16 years old. I assembled and cooked the pizzas and took the delivery orders. At the end of the night I would count the cash in the register, subtract $10 for myself and wrap the rest in a piece of aluminum foil and hide it in a secure place for the owner.

Several years later I was in the Navy and no longer worked at Pete. On the night I proposed to my girlfriend we celebrated our decision to marry by ordering a sausage pizza. A few years ago (2009) we were traveling through Orland Park from our home in Missouri. We stopped at lunch time and had a sausage pizza. The pizza's are still my favorite."

Candie from up near WI border said "I haven't lived in Orland since the '80's. I am still in Illinois but real close to the Wi border. My cousin just came in for a visit from Texas and we started reminiscing about how we would constantly order pizza from you while she was visiting us in Orland. We just might have to come down for a visit to you while she is here! Miss your pizza lots! Glad to see you are still in business!"

Bette from Orland Park said  "I have lived in Orland Park for 20 years. I recently had the opportunity to taste your pizza. Pizza is my favorite food. I have had alot of pizza's and have had a favorite until now. You just became my all time favorite. IT IS THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD! I have told 3 people about your pizza and they have all tried it and agreed. I never thought I would have switched from my favorite pizza ..... (never say never).
If you want a great pizza and never tried Pizza Pete, give them a try. You may just find..... the best pizza... EVER!

Russ from 1,876 miles away said "I started buying pizza from Pete when it was still on Union Ave. (as Orland Park Pizza), and I was still several years away from my first driver's license. I live a long, long way away these days, and it won't be too long before they don't give me a driver's license anymore, but every now & then I'm back to Orland for a visit (with my Mom, of course), and (sorry Mom!) the first stop on the way into town is Pizza Pete for what was, is, and I presume will always be the BEST PIZZA NORTH OF THE EQUATOR. --I haven't been south of the equator yet, so I can't speak to that. Stay tuned. I do have quite a bit of the northern hemisphere covered at this point and my claim is no exaggeration. Pete is the standard against which all others have been judged --and come up short. I could say lots more, but why repeat myself. If you ever get home delivery out to 1,876 miles, drop me an email. I won't mind if it doesn't get here hot. ;-)"
